I’m In The Clouds!
I’ve been messing with WordPress for a while and I thought I’d take a shot at Amazon’s S3 service and move all of my assets to the cloud. With the type of traffic I get, it will be pennies a month, if that. It is pretty neat and fairly simple to setup. I don’t know if I really improved how my website loads, but a fun little project.
While I was working on moving assets to S3, it started to snow! Seattle covered in snow is pretty awesome!
Database Crash. Rebuilding.
My WordPress database died while trying to do some minor upgrades. Some images might not work correctly, but everything else should be 100%. I’ll get everything working ASAP.
In the meantime enjoy this sunset from my office window at work.
Fooling around with themes
I have started to fool around with themes again. Not sure how I would like to style the site. Simple and easy to read. You might see more changes.

Sadly I have to announce that my time at Irrational Games have come to an end. I am grateful for the opportunity that Ken Levine gave me to help define and build the community from nothing. I am extremely proud of what we built as a studio in the time I was Community Manager from relaunching the Irrational Games Brand, to the achievements on IrrationalGames.com, or to the wild success of Irrational Behavior and Irrational Interviews. As a fan now I am extremely excited for BioShock Infinite and implore you to become a fan of their community if not for my sake, then for the sake of all my amazing co-workers working on the project.
As for me, I am excited for my next opportunity. I am looking for work as a Community Management aimed at the end consumer. Theme Tweaking
As you can probably see I am tweaking the theme of the good old WordPress site. Exploring new themes and plugins to best have the info I want to display. Stay tuned.
Spring Cleaning, New Theme, and probably some broken links
I have been fooling around with various themes, wanting to change up the page a bit. I am still modifying on a local version of the site here at home, but I decided to change the theme on the live site. I have been reading Smashing Magazine a lot, which is an amazing site that everyone should check out. I have gotten some good ideas from there, and hope to use some of that great information here on the site. One of the bad thing about all these changes is links might start breaking, as well as other items. I hope to clean everything up and keep the site updated. Keep posted for updates.
I have moved to Boston
So the day has some to leave home and venture out in the world. I have accepted a job at 2k Boston and have moved all the way across the country with my dog Scout. I am thrilled about the position, the project, and the people. It should be a fun time out here. Now I just need to make some friends.
Pre-Spring Cleaning
So there is a good possiblity that I could be moving in the coming months and my family has been getting on my case to start thining out my poesssions. I have moved a number of times, but sadly I have a packrat type behavior when it comes to things. I have a garage full of stuff that I haven’t used in years, and I have come to the conclusion it is time to part with the stuff. There are some good things in there, snowboards, various computer parts and games, furniture, and countless other nicknacks. It is shocking how quickly you buy things and how quickly you forget them as well. So I am slowly clearing out the garage of random items, posting them on Craigslist hoping to make a dollar or two. I did post a perfectly working 20″ television for free, just to get rid of it, and that went quickly. We will see if anyone bits on the items I actually put value on.
Snowpocalypse 2008
The snow has hit the northwest like crazy. Here are some photos from outside of my place. The fire deptartment made two trips due to a water pipe breaking which turned on the fire alarm.
