So I got to see Superman Returns tonight and I have to say I haven’t been that bored at a movie in a long long time.

The movie just kept going on and on and on, never ending. Just one more awkward scene with Superman being a peeping tom on Lois. Only 10 more minutes of extremely boring, yet well done, Superman CG flying to the sky and through the clouds. Just another scene with long awkward silent moments. It just kept going and going. The movie wasn’t that bad, but it would have been an hour less. The whole Superman is dead moment would have been a great time to end the movie with the camera moving into his face and then his eyes open up, screen goes black and fades to the Superman logo. But no, Singer has to do the while father-son moment. Blah. And what a waste of Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor. Here is an actor who could carry the entire movie, but no. He had almost no lines, no subplots, and zero substance.
I do have to say that Parker Posey was good, but she is always pretty funny doing her thing and the kid was pretty damn cute. The CG was extremely well done, but became boring because the shots just weren’t that interesting, but the cinematography was pretty top notch. This movie is going to tank after the opening weekend, and especially with Pirates 2 coming out next Wednesday.
