Middle of a redesign

So I get lazy about this site, and now that I have some more time on my hands I want to try to make it something again. So I’m doing a redesign with the great help of Binary Bonsai great theme K2. It might take a couple days to get it to the point where I will turn it on, but give me a little time. Also with this change and the addition of more bandwidth, I think I will slowly return the videos to being online. I’ll have to test the waters to see how it does. Email me if you have any suggestions.

Verbena is great live

Verbena is one of those band that got lost in the shuffle. Too early for their own good. I remember picking up their second album Into the Pink and was just blown away by the album. The dark piano on songs like Lovely Isn’t Lovely to the dirty guitars on Pretty Please to the female background vocals on majority songs. I’m a sucker for those female vocal hooks. Sadly Anne-Marie was no longer in the band when I got to see them live, so no female vocal hooks.  But it was a rockin’ show nonetheless. Read the rest of this entry »

Issac Brock is messed up! But Ugly Cassinova is fun to see live.

This album has some random photos of Ugly Cassinova and Dub Narcotic Sound System so many years ago.  There were only like 100 people at this show, which looking back at it now, is pretty amazing since I saw Modest Mouse play a sold out show at The Paramount. Read the rest of this entry »

Trail of Dead rocks me senseless at Neumo’s

I really enjoyed Trail of Dead older albums like Madonna and Source Tags & Codes, but I really loved Worlds Apart.  It falls into one of those rock epic albums where the entire band was higher the a kite while recording and that everyone should listen too.  To my joy the first time I saw them live they played a good number of songs from Worlds Apart.  It freaking rocked.  The double drum kits will be remembered for a long time to come. The White Stripes rock me silly again…

In Olympia this time!!  Holy crap!!  Seeing The White Stripes on back to back nights is a real treat.  They even played Jolene at this show. Read the rest of this entry »

The White Stripes rock me silly in Seattle

I love The White Stripes! I mean is there a better live rock band out there? Can you rock as hard as they do with just two people!?! I think not! In my deep album rotation of White Blood Cells and De Stijl I saw The White Stripes at the Moore Theatre and they rocked me silly. Oh how I would love to see them again…perhaps even the follwing night? Read the rest of this entry »

The English can rap!! I see The Streets!

My friend had me go check out The Streets with him at Chop Suey.  I’ve heard a couple tracks from them and it was pretty interesting to hear hip-hop from across the pond. Read the rest of this entry »

The Raveonettes stop my hearing at the Croc

I loved The Raveonettes first EP Whip It On, and they damaged my hearing for life when I saw them live at the Croc.  Good lord were they loud.  All my friends say it wasn’t nearly as loud as a Sonic Youth show, but I really couldn’t hear that well for a good couple days. The Postal Service at the Croc

As much as I not a fan of Ben Gibbard, the Postal Service is pretty darn catchy and fun to listen to when your in the mood.  So I had to jump at the oppertunity to check them out live.  Well worth it, they put on a great show and I got to see Jenny Lewis in the flesh, oh baby. The Pale Pacific at the Showbox

The Pale Pacific formerly just The Pale opened for Supergrass at the Croc.  It appears they were a late addition, but they were fun to watch.  Good seeing some local boys rock out. Read the rest of this entry »

Oh how I love The Futureheads

I was in kinda of a down funk and then I got The Futureheads self titled album, and it was exactly what the doctor ordered. So up beat and fun to listen too. Which is why I was very excited to see them live at Neumo’s.  They put on a very fun show. Read the rest of this entry »

The Cooper Temple Clause rocks the Croc

Some good friends of mine over on GAF recommended that I check out this band from England, The Cooper Temple Clause.  Well fuck me, they freaking rocked, and what luck.  They played the following week at the Croc.  This was a great show.  Good number of people, but not too crowded. Life Ends. I have seen The Beta Band.

Sadly The Beta Band has broken up, but they had probably one of the best shows I have ever seen live.  Just this mixture of funk, regee, synth, dance, and hiphop with an absoute insane stage show.  I really wish I could have seen them headline again before they broke up. Supergrass at The Showbox

Supergrass is one of those bands I always thought I should see live.  They put on a pretty rockin’ show. Read the rest of this entry »
